"Speculation from some corners . . . "

I'm not advocating this idea at all, just wanted to spare Aliensdiddit the trouble!

Nothing unusual. Analysts' explanation for the dark spot in the image is mentioned at the end of the article.

But the article itself is worded in weird manner, with lot of open ended statements like "speculation from some corners..."", "theorists have seized.....", which indicate possibilities of something exotic while none exists.

And guess what, all this on the basis of video commentary of one YouTube user!

I'm guessing it was a slow news day so they found something to hype up. The whole adding open ended non-specific statements to hint at something exotic going on without actually saying so outright is a fairly standard tactic to try and create interest from what is otherwise a decidedly uninteresting topic for most people (remember that the job of the people writing it is to get hits to make money).

They?
If it were a mainstream media source, I would say yes.

But; this is just some blogger that happens to be referenced by Yahoo. And the name of his blog, "the Sideshow", should be a good clue as to what his aim is.

I've just posted a little rant in the Feedback section about website hits.

Sorry Luckmeister, I didn't think of that, but thought the Yahoo article was absurd enough that we wouldn't need to look at "The Sideshow". What do you think, should we or should we not open C.T. topics just to report on what absurdities are being proposed?

May I suggest that that question be dealt with in the thread that Luckmeister started in Feedback (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php/125300-Website-hit-frustration), and we leave this thread to the content of the linked article.

Not exactly, the blog is part of the Yahoo News site rather than being some random blog on the internet and while I'm not sure if Yahoo counts as a mainstream media source (I simply don't care enough to keep track) it is a certainly one of the major ones on the internet. Looking at the rest of the content the name does seem appropriate, while its not mostly woo-woo stuff its generally things that at best marginally count as news.

And used the stuff that is making rounds of the web since September.

For what it's worth, I made my own youtube video debunking this by re-creating the processing artifact with my own software. Granted, the software I use is not what they use, so there's bound to be some differences in the stacking parameters, but overall the effect is the same.

Nice one. However, I have my doubts about the HB's following the advice you give at the end of the clip!
