I was going to a star viewing that was going on here in Florida, and it being Florida, unfortunately it was very cloudy and we missed out. The plan was to view a nova that had formed in a galaxy fairly recently. Must have been earlier this month.
I can't remember which galaxy it was observed in and was trying to get some information on it, maybe some images.
It was in either M-30, or M-31 I think, my memories not so good.

Is there a site or catalog that keeps track of Nova?
I found one linked to Harvard, but you need to have an account with them to pull it up.

Sounds like supernova 2011dh in M51 (there are some images in the astrophotography section here).

There is a group in Rochester that keeps an up-to-date list of recent supernovae (http://www.rochesterastronomy.org/supernova.html) with images and background.

Perfect, thank you.
And I really am bad with memory.
