Tonight our site is going to go boink for a little while. We’re gong to be merging our forums with the BAUT forums.
This may have some weird side-effects.
Actually, this most definitely will have some weird side-effects.
If you have an account on BAUT, for a little while you may need to login with your BAUT username. Fixing usernames will take us a little while. The recover username and password software will help you out while we fix things.
You’ll also find that there are a lot more boards that have their own rules. BAUT is a lot more established than CosmoQuest, and over the past decade they’ve developed a set of rules for handling people who have ideas that go against the main stream of science or various conspiracy theories. So far we’ve managed to avoid those folks, but this is a matter of lucky. I have a feeling our luck is running out and I’m willing to learn from their experience.
Beyond that, you’re getting a whole lot of new community members who are going to shake things up. Let’s try and give them a warm welcome.
On March 22, 2013 we found out that many NASA EPO programs will be suspended as a direct result of US budgetary sequestration. The full ramifications are still being learned, but we are proactively working to raise money to make sure that CosmoQuest can continue to support its staff and its programs. As we are able, we will also use any monies we raise to contract amazing people whose jobs are negatively impacted by budgetary cuts.
