Glossary: Sinuous Channels
Lava can be very hot, and can sometimes melt the solidified lava below it, carving out a sinuous channel in the rock. The resulting structure looks a lot like a river channel.
However, some people believe that sinuous channels are formed by the collapse of lava tubes.
